I can’t say this better, so I’m posting the video from the Funny or Die dot com. It’s very short and says it all about California’s Proposition 8:
I first learned of this musical presentation on the Rachel Maddow Show on MSNBC. Last night, Keith Olbermann had the producer Marc Shaiman, and stars Jack Black and John C. Reilly on Countdown on MSNBC.
As always, please leave your thoughts in the comments
.
being the change i wish to see, Jack Black, John C. Reilly, Keith Olbermann, Marc Shaiman, Musical, Prop 8, Rachel Maddow

This is a scream. But also the sitch around it is very sad. After all, I was just flipping through a People magazine and saw the photos from George Takei’s wedding. (“Sulu” from “Star Trek.) They looked so happy, their rings are beautiful and the cake was so pretty.
And they got married in California – not long before Prop 8 dropped the hammer.
I do wish them well.

RhondaL, I’m a huge Star Trek fan and read about George Takei’s wedding.
Fortunately, marriages already performed are safe. Same-sex couples can’t get a marriage license in California right now, but those already issued are still in force.
My next post will be about what Pat Boone and people like him are saying. Gays and Lesbians are now no better than terrorists because some demonstrations got a bit vigorous. People just don’t remember the late 60′s and early 70′s. Protests today are mostly peaceful. But if majority groups continue to believe they can deny minority groups civil rights, protests will continue.
Churches who have gone so far as to preach against gay civil rights should lose their tax exempt status. They can rail against being gay as a sin all they want, but when they start telling people how they should vote in a country with separation of church and state, they’ve stepped outside of their tax exempt place.
