Bob Dylan wrote this song, but I think Tracy Chapman sings it better than anyone else I’ve ever heard. Listen to the lyrics. They fit so well with the times we are in now. It’s like the 1930′s and 1960′s all rolled into one. War and recession, maybe a depression. Who knows? We won’t until after it is past.
Here’s the music video:
There is also a video on YouTube with Bob Dylan singing and it has the lyrics to the song if you want to learn them:
I’ve added this song to my karaoke repertoire.

I had not heard Tracy’s version of this song. It is the best.
The words are so especially significant this year.
Let’s hope that the change we will see in the next year will benefit all of us and our world.
Happy New Year, my friend!

Corinne,
Happy New Year! I was surprised to find this video on YouTube. I found it through Newsvine when somebody posted the best social change and war protest songs. I’ve been hanging out on Newsvine because I have the chance to help talk Rachel Maddow down off her anxiety-driven ledges, although sometimes I get out there with her.
