Martin Delaney made a substantial difference in the fight against HIV/AIDS when hardly anybody, including the Reagan administration, cared about it. Mr. Delaney died this week at the age of 63. He co-founded Project Inform, an HIV/AIDS patients community activist group that is on-going today.

He wasn’t a star. He was a very effective activist and advocate. His work is a role model for us all that one person can make a difference if they decide to do so.

Do you have a cause you deeply care about? What work are you doing on that cause?

A lot of people say “I’ll work on X later when I have more time.” The fact is we never have more time for things, we only have 24 hours in each day. What we must do is choose what we will do with that time wisely, and advocacy for a good cause is an excellent use of your time.

Choose to make a difference.
